MOFGA to hold meetings on organic certification Feb. 2-9

UNITY — If you market and sell products as organic, chances are good you need to be certified by a USDA-accredited certifier to comply with USDA regulations.

At meetings to be held in three Maine locations, all from 1 to 4 p.m., MOFGA Agricultural Services and MOFGA Certification Services will provide an overview of organic production practices, including those for vegetables, herbs, livestock and value-added products. Information will be available on how to become certified organic, as will resources for first-time or transitioning operations. You do not need to be a certified organic grower to attend. All are welcome!
