AUBURN — Androscoggin Historical Society will sponsor a program on “Antique Chests and Their Stories” by Churchill Barton at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, at the society’s Davis-Wagg Museum on the third floor of the Androscoggin County Building, 2 Turner St.
Amanda and Churchill Barton founded Brettuns Village Trunk Shop in 1988 in the neighborhood known as Brettuns Village in Livermore.
They specialized in the restoration of travel trunks and cases from the late 1800s. They have shipped their refinished trunks across the USA and around the world.
In 1990, the company began selling hardware, parts and supplies for trunk and case repair and restoration, and the company first appeared online (BrettunsVillage.com) in 1994.
They operate from a barn in Livermore and a modern building at 557 Lincoln St. in Lewiston.
Admission is free, although donations are accepted.
