Multi-farmer CSA fair to be held at Lithgow Library March 10

AUGUSTA — A multi-farmer Community Supported Agriculture Fair will be held 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 10, the Lithgow Public Library.
The event is free and open to the public. Community Supported Agriculture, also called farm shares, is a way to buy local, seasonal food directly from a farmer.

By pre-paying before the start of the growing season, the farmers are supported through the early days and buyers reap the rewards of the harvest throughout the growing season. Particpants pick up your CSA box of produce at farmers markets, directly at the farm or have them delivered to home or office.
Some farms have add-ons available, such as eggs, meat and dairy. Farm shares can be small enough for a single person or large enough to feed a family.
Farmer interested in representing their farm at the fair may contact Julie Olson, the adult services librarian, at Lithgow Public Library, 45 Winthrop St.
