AUGUSTA — New Ventures Maine will offer Career Planning, a free five-week class to help you prepare for your next career move, at 9:30 a.m. Wednesdays, starting Feb. 1 at the library, 45 Winthrop St.
In this class, you will review your skills, interests and experiences and relate them to occupations. You will learn about education and training opportunities, research the local job market and develop a step-by-step plan to achieve your career goals.
The class is open to adults of all backgrounds. Anyone is welcome who is interested in building a career, going back to school or finding a new job. Whether you are unemployed, underemployed or considering a career change, this class will help you achieve career success.
Graduates of Career Planning are eligible to apply for the University of Maine at Augusta GEN Scholarship.
New Ventures Maine helps Maine people find success in their jobs, businesses and communities through free classes, workshops and individual coaching to build a career, start a business or manage your money. New Ventures Maine is administered by the University of Maine at Augusta and operates out of 10 offices statewide.
This program is free and open to the public. Preregistration is required.
