Norway hospital offers seminar on advance directives

Jan. 182017

NORWAY — Stephens Memorial Hospital is pleased to offer “Taking Charge of Your Health by Planning Ahead with Advance Directives” from 8 a.m. to noon Fridays, Feb. 17, March 10, April 14 and May 19, in the James Eshleman DO Conference Room, William L. Medd MD Health Center, 8 Pikes Hill.

Stephens Memorial Hospital’s licensed clinical social worker Robin Green will discuss the importance of advanced directives along with other ways to make your health care wishes known ahead of time. Advance directives are legal documents that allow you to spell out your decisions about end-of-life care ahead of time, such as terminal illness or permanent unconsciousness.

It’s not something that we like to think about, but the advanced directives give you a way to tell your wishes to family, friends and health care professionals and to avoid confusion later on.

No registration is required; walk-ins are welcome. There is no cost for this program. For more information or to register call please call 743-1562, ext. 6896.
