SIDNEY — Volunteers are needed for the Pond Hockey Classic, scheduled for Feb. 9 to 11 on Messalonskee Lake at the Snow Pond Arts Academy, Route 23. All volunteers working three or more hours will get a “player gift” and there are also paid positions available.
The tournament needs a scorekeeper, who will get $15 a game ($20 an hour) if doing it to fundraise for a group, and $10 a game ($12.50 an hour), if direct pay, or a $30 skate shop voucher.
Volunteers are also needed for the ice crew, parking, beer garden, as runners or in the skate shop, and will get a $20 skate shop voucher. For more information, contact Desiree Hersom at dhersom@valley-dist.com
