WOODSTOCK — Members of Mahoosuc Land Trust are hoping people strap on their snowshoes and come out to play.
The trust is hosting two snowshoe hikes, a Saturday morning one, and another under the full moon.
The trust will lead a snowshoe hike on one of its newest area trails, Lapham Ledge, beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at Buck’s Ledge trailhead on Route 26, just north of Bryant Pond public spring.
The Lapham Loop Snowshoe trail offers a 1.5-mile round trip, moderate hike with great views looking south. Please wear warm clothes, bring water and be prepared with snowshoes or boots with micro spikes. Hot cocoa and snacks will be provided.
Wednesday, Jan. 31, marks the second full moon of the month. Snowshoeing by moonlight begins at 6 p.m. at Valentine Farm, 162 North Road, Bethel. Visitors can walk one or both of the half-mile loops. This easy hike is perfect for people of varying ages and abilities.
