LEWISTON — Maine’s Got Talent is holding open auditions for musicians from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, and Saturday, Jan. 28, at Community Little Theater in Auburn.
Auditions aim to secure 10 musical performers and two alternates who will compete for cash prizes of $750, $500 and $250 at the sixth annual Maine’s Got Talent, an annual fundraising event for local nonprofit Sandcastle Clinical & Educational Services and LA Hearing Center.
In its sixth year, Maine’s Got Talent has showcased musicians ranging from eight-person house bands to lone acoustic singer-songwriters, large-scale collegiate a capella groups to teen singers with ambition. Any and all Maine musicians over 16 years old, as well as non-winning past performers, are welcome to attend either of the two open auditions.
“We are always amazed at the incredible talent this community showcases at our fundraising event. The performers not only compete in hopes of winning cash prizes and getting amazing exposure in a beautiful performing hall, they also learn about the work our agency does in this community. As a result, they do a great job spreading the word about our mission and the important task we have of fundraising to support it,” said Sandcastle CEO Stephanie Gelinas.
