Free AARP tax help available in Bridgton, Fryeburg beginning in February

BRIDGTON — The AARP urges those in the Bridgton and Fryeburg area who need assistance with preparation of federal and state income tax forms to make thier appointment as soon as possible.
Internal Revenue Service trained and certified AARP tax-aid specialists will begin service at the Bridgton Community Center, 15 Depot St. on Friday Feb. 2 and will continue every Friday through April 6. Appointments may be made at 207-647-3116.

The service is also available at the Fryeburg Library, 515 Main St., Tuesdays beginning Feb. 6 and through April 10. Call 207-935-2731 for an appointment.

Those using the service are required to bring a valid photo ID for taxpayer and spouse, Social Security cards for themselves and dependents, and a copy of their 2016 tax return, as well as tax-related forms or statements from employers, Social Security Administration, pension providers, interest and dividends received from banks and/or investment firms, health insurance information for taxpayer, spouse and all dependents, any other income documents relevant and any receipts or summary of deductions. Preparation of income tax returns is a free service and is sponsored jointly by Internal Revenue Service and the AARP Foundation.
