Brakey invites students to be honorary pages in Maine Senate

Dec. 262017

AUGUSTA — Maine state Sen. Eric Brakey, R-Auburn, is inviting area students to be honorary pages with the Maine Senate for the second regular session, which begins Wednesday, Jan. 3.

Brakey’s District 20 comprises Auburn, New Gloucester, Poland, Minot and Mechanic Falls.

As a page, students have the opportunity to participate in a legislative session, delivering messages and distributing documents within the Senate Chamber.

“Paging is a great way for students to get hands-on experience in state government and learn more about the legislative process through interaction with elected officials,” said Senator Brakey.

The program, which lasts for one day, is open to students from third grade through high school. The Legislature schedules pages for each session day. The session ends April 18.

For more information, contact Brakey’s office at 207-287-1505.
