Monmouth Community Players to hold auditions for ‘When Radio Was King’

MONMOUTH — The Monmouth Community Players are in search for talented actors to perform in their second annual original 1940s radio variety show “When Radio was King.”

The production is being directed by Linda Duarte, of Lewiston, with musical direction by Bob Gilbert, of Farmingdale. Cindy Dunham, of Winthrop, will be the show’s producer.

Auditions will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3 and Thursday, Jan. 4 at Cumston Hall. Those auditioning should prepare 16 bars of a song to be performed with accompaniment. The production is looking for actors, musicians, singers and more.

Anyone interested in being part of the show should attend auditions. Those who can’t attend should contact Linda directly to make alternative arrangements. The show will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday,, Feb. 16 and 17, at at 2 p.m. Feb. 17 and Sunday, Feb. 18.
