Nov. 292017

AUBURN — The City of Auburn and Norway Savings Bank Arena, in partnership with Maine Hockey Management Group, will hold a press conference Friday, Dec. 1, at 9 a.m. at Norway Savings Bank Arena, 985 Turner St., to announce the details of a “high-level junior hockey team” that will call the arena home.

Details include league affiliation, team name, team logo and colors, timeline for events leading to the first puck drop, and other important aspect of the agreement.

“Bringing this level of talent to Maine — and more importantly, to Auburn — is a game-changer,” said Jason Paquin, general manager of NSBA. “We are building on the iconic hockey history of this community. We are all excited for this group to hit the ice here in the Twin Cities.”

Maine Hockey Management Group is owned by Ben Gray and Dan Hodge, two former professional hockey players, each with a collegiate and junior hockey background. Gray, a Saint Dominic Academy graduate, and Hodge, a respected name in the hockey world, recognize this community’s passion for hockey and are excited to bring back high-level junior hockey with a focus on community, education and pride.
