Farmington Warming Center to resume in January

FARMINGTON — The Farmington Warming Center will resume on Tuesdays and Thursdays in January and February, and in March on Thursdays for the 2018 season.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and it is open to the public.

Coffee and snacks are available, and there are also puzzles and games. At noon, a lunch of soup and dessert is served, provided by community friends. Lunch is free, but donations are accepted.
The schedule is:

Tuesdays Jan. 9, 16, 23, 30, and Feb. 6 and 13, Henderson Memorial, 110 Academy St.

Tuesdays Feb. 20 and 27 and March 6, 13, 20 and 27, St. Joseph’s, 133 Middle St.. Call 207-491-4947 to volunteer.

Thursdays Jan. 11, 18, 25, and Feb. 1, 8, 15 and 22, Old South, 227 Main St. Call 207-645-2884 to volunteer.

Volunteers are welcome, as well as those with a talent to share. The warming center is not be equipped to supervise children or adult day care.

Public transportation is available for a small fee by calling Western Mountain Transportation at 1-800-393-9335. Call in advance. For weather-related cancellations, listen to WKTJ-FM 99.3. If school is canceled, the warming center is closed.
