Tommy’s Feral Felines seeks bakers for Dec. 16, 17 bake sale

Nov. 272017

LEWISTON — Tommy’s Feral Felines, which was hit hard by the October storm, is looking for bakers and baked goods for the organization’s Christmas bake sale and bottle drive.

The fundraiser will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 16 and Sunday, Dec. 17, in front of Chapter 11 under the tents, 707 Main St.

Baked goods, bottles and cans and donations will go a long way to helping the group continue to save lives of the forgotten ferals and the ones that cross its path every day.

The October storm did devastating damage to some of the area’s feral colonies, and the organization said donations will help rebuild and prepare to help the cats through the winter.

The all-volunteer organization spays and neuters feral cats, and also has shelters on private land — invited by property owners who were having trouble with wild cat colonies — where the cats are fed, spayed, neutered and sheltered. The organization cares for about 500 cats outdoors and 100 in private shelters.

Tommy’s Feral Felines has been in operation for nearly 40 years. For more information, vcontact Norm Blais at normblais39@yahoo.com. Donations are always appreciated and can be sent to Tommy’s Feral Feline Friends, P. O. Box 274, Greene, ME 04236
