Friends of Norway Library Holiday Harmony open house is Dec. 8

NORWAY — The Friends of Norway Memorial Library are hosting their annual open house from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at the library. The event, which is free and open to the public, is themed Holiday Harmony, and at 7 p.m. will feature a performance of the Mollyockett Chorus, a chapter of Sweet Adelines International.

The chorus will sing songs to heighten the feeling of the season and put listeners into a joyful holiday mood, the organization said in a news release. There will be “something for everyone” at the open house, including books for sale, food, and holiday decorations.

Also, in keeping with the Holiday Harmony theme, attendees may participate in “Dashing Through the Library,” a challenge in which participants will try to locate depictions of traditional holiday songs throughout the library.

The event coincides with Norway’s Downtown Holiday Nights, when Main Street merchants will extend evening hours on Fridays in December.
