Paris Public Library to hold computer coding workshop for kids, parents

PARIS — A Family Code Night will be held from 6:45 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, at the Paris Public Library.

The night features code puzzles from Code.org. The event is for kids grades kindergarten through five and their parents, who can do their first hour of computer programming together. It will include parent-child teams to complete Code.org puzzles and challenges at their own pace, and learn core concepts in coding.

Participants will also go home with a “Code On at Home” guide to continue coding at home. No coding experience is needed, and there will be a few laptops available if needed, though participants should bring a laptop, Chromebook or tablet for each two attendees if possible.
