LEWISTON — A program on how to protect yourself from scam and fraud is one of the many offerings from The Education Center at SeniorsPlus for December.
SeniorsPlus will also hold a holiday bake sale, with all the proceeds going to Meals on Wheels. There will be an assortment of homemade cookies and other goodies to choose from. They will be packaged and ready to sell beginning at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20. The bake sale ends at 4:30 p.m., or when the goodies run out.
How to Protect Yourself from Fraud & Scams will be from 9 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 5. Instructor Valerie Cole will discuss how scams and identity theft rob millions of Americans each year and how creative and persistent scammers can be. Attendees will learn to recognize common scams and what they can do to avoid them and protect themselves.
Other programs will include Hospice 101, Haiku for all Seasons, Party’n with Plants, as well as programs on mental health, planning for retirement, and more. For a full schedule, visit SeniorsPlus.org.
