WILTON — The third annual Family Style Christmas Dinner — an event free to everyone in the community — will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. Christmas Day, Monday, Dec. 25, at the Harden Masonic Hall, 70 Bryant Road, across from Tractor Supply.
A traditional Christmas meal of ham, mashed potatoes, squash, gravy, cranberry sauce, rolls and pies will be served family style. Free transportation will be provided for those who might otherwise be unable to attend.
The dinner is for anyone who is alone on Christmas; anyone who cannot prepare a meal; or for those who just want to socialize with other people. Santa will be making an appearance.
Event organizers — Arleen Masselli, Amanda Beane and Donna Dashnau of the 3C Society — are encouraging people to start a new family tradition of giving back to the community. Consider volunteering by serving tables, cutting pies or helping with clean-up. There is no shortage of work to be done, they stressed.
Event organizers are asking for help with donations of potatoes, squash or rolls, and those with the skill might consider making pies for the event or volunteering with prep work needing to be done.
