Clock exhibit at Norway Public Library to run through new year

NORWAY — It’s been a busy fall at the Norway Public Library, with a new exhibit, storytelling and music.

John Ellis has loaned his collection of Big Ben and baby Ben clocks for the glass case display at the library, and the exhibit will be on display until after the new year.

It includes various styles of the alarm clocks from 1912 through 2000, advertisements, and information.

In October, storyteller Jude Lamb presented “Women Were Pioneers, Too!”

The talk about her fourth great-grandmother, Eunice Lakeman Hoar, on Oct. 12, covered how Hoar, her husband, and her family made the long, harrowing journey to settle in Rangeley. Her performance was followed by questions from the audience. She talked about the other Maine women she portrays and her passion for giving these historic women a voice.

On the evening of Oct. 26, the Cobblestones performed for a full audience.

The band, featuring vocalist Carolyn Costanzi, guitarist/vocalist Michael Plourde, bassist Ken Lloyd, percussionist Mark Plourde and keyboardist Danielle Tran, was sponsored by the Friends of Norway Memorial Library.
