CANTON — The Canton Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will hold its fifth annual Festival of Wreaths Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 25 and 26; Thursday, Nov. 30; and Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 2 and 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Canton Fire Department, 90 Turner St. (Route 108).
We accept donated wreaths of any theme — real or artificial. Past wreath themes run the gamut of home décor, Christmas, Halloween, Fourth of July, lottery tickets, candy and much more. The sky’s the limit. We do have capability for wreaths needing electricity for lights, etc. Businesses may attach advertising materials to their wreath.
Tickets are 6 for $5 or 1 for $1. Patrons deposit tickets in a ticket-auction fashion for their favorite wreaths. Winners are drawn after close on Dec. 3, and pick up/delivery arrangements are made. This year patrons are welcome to stay during the drawings.
In the past proceeds have been used to help with truck repairs and tracks for the utility vehicle. This summer, we provided donations to three families displaced from their homes due to house fires.
