Stephens Hospital to present DASH diet workshop Nov. 2

NORWAY — The DASH diet — Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension — is a lifelong approach to healthy eating designed to help treat or prevent high blood pressure (hypertension).
The DASH diet encourages reducing sodium and eat a variety of foods rich in nutrients that help lower blood pressure.
Stephens Memorial Hospital registered dietitian Pat Watson will present a workshop on the eating plan from 10 to 11:300 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, at the Harper Conference Center in the Ripley Medical Office Building, 193 Main St.

Participants will get a chance to sample food made from recipes of the eating plan.
DASH diet booklets and recipes will be provided, and there is no cost for this program; preregister, however, at www.wmh.coursestorm.com.
