SMH offers American Heart Association CPR class

NORWAY — Stephens Memorial Hospital will offer an American Heart Association Heartsaver(R) CPR AED (automated external defibrillator) class to be held Thursday, Oct. 19, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Harper Conference Center of the Ripley Medical Office building, 193 Main St.

Heartsaver(R) CPR AED is a video-based, instructor-led course teaching adult and child CPR and AED use, infant CPR, and how to relieve choking in adults, children and infants. This course teaches skills with the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, allowing instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students’ learning of skills. This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use in order to meet job, regulatory or other requirements.
