FARMINGTON –The Western Mountains Committee of the Maine Community Foundation recently presented $2,500 grants to Hospice Volunteers of Somerset County and Healthy Community Coalition of Franklin County at a reception at the University of Maine Farmington.
MaineCF President and CEO Steve Rowe joined Western Mountains Committee chairwoman Amber Lambke in presenting the awards.
“These two organizations are doing exceptional work to improve the quality of life for families in the region,” said Lambke.
Established in 1992, the Western Mountains Fund, a permanent charitable resource, has awarded nearly 400 grants totaling more than $1.7 million to organizations in Somerset and Franklin counties. The Western Mountains Fund is a part of MaineCF’s statewide Community Building Grant Program.
