Monmouth, Leavitt compete in first cross-country race of season

Joe Crocker of Monmouth Academy reached the finish line in 20:39 for 18th place, just ahead of Leavitt’s Justin Cabral. Crocker was followed closely by teammates Ethan Thombs, Devon Poisson and Kyle Gunnels. Six teams and 84 runners competed on the 3.1 mile hilly course at Maranacook High School. Leavitt finishes fourth overall in the race and Monmouth finishes sixth. It was the first meet of the high school cross-country season. (Bill Van Tassel photo)
