PHILLIPS — The Phillips Fire Department is partnering with the American Red Cross to offer free smoke detectors to residents of Avon, Phillips and Madrid. Smoke detectors will be installed in your home free of charge on Saturday Sept. 9, but those who wish to participate must register beforehand by calling either the Avon Town Office at 207-639-5326 or the Phillips Town Office at 207-639-3561.
Phillips Fire Department personnel will install as many smoke detectors as a home needs and will provide some home fire safety tips at the same time.
