NORWAY – Stephens Memorial Hospital is offering “Know How to Use Your Fire Extinguisher,” a course that will equip participants with the knowledge and skill to detect and extinguish a fire only when it is safe to do so.
Norway Fire Chief Dennis Yates will give potential life-saving tips that could be useful if a fire breaks out in a home. Through hands-on training with fire simulations in a safe learning environment, the professional instructors will go over the basics of fire extinguishers, including when and how to use a fire extinguisher, the different types of fire extinguishers, the different types of fires and fire extinguisher maintenance.
The class will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, at the Norway Fire Department, 19 Danforth St. There is no cost to participate, but registration is required. To register, p visit www.wmh.coursestorm.com. For more information, call 207-743-1562, ext. 6896.
