RANGELEY — The Rangeley Friends of the Arts is raising money to buy digital equipment that would make it possible to screen first-run movies at the RFA Lakeside Theater. Nearly $40,000 has been raised toward the goal of $80,000, according to a news release from the RFA.
Nearly $16,000 was raised at a July fundraiser, Good Acoustics, that was made possible with help from the Patnode family and many volunteers. Forks in the Air restaurant will match all donations made there during the month of August, release said.
“If each Rangeley resident contributes $30, the RFA will be able to purchase the digital equipment needed to show first-run movies at the theater,” said the release, which said the screen at the theater is the biggest on in Franklin County.
