LPD plans ‘Citizens Police Academy’

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Police Department’s “Citizens Police Academy” provides an inside look over the day-to-day operations of the department. Described as a “unique opportunity to engage with the department,” participants can expect to learn about the services provided, to discuss current issues and to ask questions related to law enforcement.

This 10-week program will be held Tuesdays, Sept. 5 through Nov. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the department, 171 Park St.; there will not be a class Oct. 31. Applications will be available in the lobby.
