WAYNE — Summer resident Mark Rochkind will speak about his visits to Morocco at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, at the library. Rochkind will share photos and insights from two visits to the African nation. “The North African country of Morocco is 99 percent Muslim and yet continues as a friend of the United States,” Rochkind said. “The country survived the Arab Spring through very rapid accommodation on the part of its monarch. Morocco is a beguiling land with coastlines, mountains, and desert. Americans have been welcome, people are friendly, and the food is appealing.” He visited in 2013 and 2016 and calls it “a mysterious and enchanting place.”
Cary Memorial Library is at 17 Old Winthrop Road, just off Route 133. The library is handicapped accessible and all are cordially invited. Seating is on a first come, first served basis. For more information, phone the library at 207-685-3612.
