JAY-LIVERMORE FALLS — At its annual Christmas party recently the Jay-Livermore Falls Lions Club presented a $300 donation to theJay-Livermore Falls area Special Olympics program sponsored by the Lane-Dube AMVETS Post No. 33 in Jay.
The AMVETS was represented by Gary Desjardins, who accepted the check.
The Special Olympians are involved with winter, spring and summer games and have 20 events on their agenda including yard sales, bowling, dances and suppers.
Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service organization with 1.41million members in 46,746 clubs located in 210 countries around the world. The Jay-Livermore Falls Club meets the first and third Tuesday evenings at the Chuck Wagon Restaurant on Depot Street in Livermore Falls with a social time at 6 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m.
