Chip Morrison Scholarship Scramble is Aug. 23

LEWISTON — The 18th annual Chip Morrison Scholarship Scramble, which benefits area education, will held Wednesday, Aug. 23, at Poland Spring Resort.
The Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and the Central Maine Community College Foundation will be hosting the tournament, which funds scholarships for students at Central Maine Community College and regional high schools.

The resort is at 640 Maine St., Poland Spring.
Sponsorships are available, and last year more than 63 local businesses joined as sponsors, in addition to a large field of participating golfers, according to organizers.
Last year’s event raised more than $38,000 for scholarships for local students. In the last 17 years, the Scholarship Scramble has raised more than $647,000 to support local students, according to the chamber.
“Your sponsorship will make a difference in the lives of students and their families,” chamber officials said.
