1956–2017
BOSTON — Bonnie S. Pulsifer, 60, of Leeds, passed away Sunday, July 2, at Beth Israel Medical Center, following a lingering illness.
Born Aug. 10, 1956, in Lewiston, the daughter of Clyde “Ted” R. Pulsifer Jr. and Glenice (Francis) Pulsifer, she was a 1974 graduate of Leavitt Area High School in Turner.
She continued her schooling, receiving her bachelor’s degree in education from University of Maine and her master’s degree from University of New Hampshire.
She worked in the field of education as a teacher and other positions, having worked in Mississippi, Memphis, Tenn.,. Wolfeboro, N.H., and most recently in Portland. She was a member of several teacher’s organizations.
Bonnie married her husband of 27 years, Scott Turcotte, Dec. 31, 1989, at the Abbott Street Chapel in Portland. They made their home in Windham and recently moved back to the Pulsifer homestead in Leeds. She enjoyed the dairy farm while growing up and showed championship dairy heifers in 4-H. She had a true appreciation of nature and the country life. While teaching was her passion, she also delighted in her Longaberger basket venture, her Anna Lee doll collection, watching PG rated movies — maybe a PG-13 now and then. She was an avid New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan, and if reading was a sport, she would be a gold medal winner.
She is survived by her husband and their son, Glen Turcotte, of Leeds; a brother, Randall Pulsifer, of Saco; a niece, Morgan Pulsifer, and a nephew, Jordan Pulsifer.
