Summer reading programs aren’t just for kids at Lewiston Public Library

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Public Library is holding, in addition to its children’s summer reading programs, programs for teens and adults as well. Both programs began June 26 and offer prizes. The teen program is for those in grades 7 to 12 or age 13 to 18; the adult program is for those 18 and older.

Participants can read any type of material and any genre. Those who meet their goals (books for adults and minutes for teens) receive a library scratch-off ticket. That will either be an instant winners or entry into raffles that will be drawn at the end of the program in August. Prizes include books, movie packs, candy, and more. Those participating can use www.ReaderZone.com, a free app (Apple, Android, and web-based) to record their progress in addition to the traditional paper logs for those who prefer them or have difficulty accessing the app. For information, contact the Adult and Teen Services Desk, 207-513-3135 or LPLReference@LewistonMaine.gov.
