Basketball season opens

Dirigo junior Luke Lueders had nine points including one three-pointer during the season opener against Madison. The young Cougars came out strong with a 13-7 lead first period. Junior Cooper Chiasson had a game-high 15 points, but it wasn’t enough to keep the visiting Bulldogs at bay. Madison won 50-45. Junior guard Jacob Gaudin contributed five points (one three-pointer) in the Dirigo Cougar’s opening game in Dixfield on Dec. 9.
