CARRABASSETT VALLEY — The “Build a Better World” Summer Reading Program at the Carrabassett Valley Public Library has free weekly activities through August, and readers can sign up any time.
The program comes with a reading log, activity page and bookmark, and the first 20 children to sign up receive a book bag and voucher for a free Portland Sea Dogs ticket.
Activities range from marble mazes and marshmallow towers to Popsicle stick catapults and paper cup pyramids.
The program ends Wednesday, Aug. 16, with an ice cream social for all participants.
The weekly programs are ongoing during the libraries open hours, which 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday during the summer.
