RANGELEY — The Rangeley Registered Guide and Sportsman’s Assocation will learn about the state’s ongoing Moose Survival Study when it meets at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 20. The meeting is at the clubhouse on Old Skiway Road in Oquossoc, and the potluck supper starts at 5:30, with the business meeting following, which will include election of officers and board members.
Lee Kantar, Maine’s moose biologist, will present the four-year findings of the ongoing Moose Survival Study. Kantar last visited the association four years ago, after the first 30 moose were fitted with GPS collars. The state Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife is now following more than 100 collared moose.
