Summer reading program, more on tap for kids at Paris Public Library

PARIS — The Paris Public Library is holding a variety of events and activities this summer for children, including a Bingo-themed summer reading program. In the summer reading challenge, participants are given a card with squares, and each square contains a reading challenge that has to be completed.

Prizes are awarded for filling five consecutive squares, for filling half the sheet and for filling the entire sheet. The challenge ends on Thursday, Aug. 17, and there will be an ice cream sundae party for participants on Saturday, Aug. 19.

This year, there are Bingo sheets available for teens and adults as well. Through the month of July, the library will also offer language and math worksheets for children to try at their grade level.

Each Tuesday morning, drawings will be held among the sheets successfully completed in both categories for $5 prizes.

Other features in July include a visit from magician Conjuring Carroll, Hobbit Immersion Camp, Minecraft Days, Movie Night, Lego Free Play, Crazy Science Afternoons, Minute to Win It, Kids’ Paint Party and more.
