This Weekend in Downtown Bethel
Friday: Catch a new film at The Gem Theater, ‘Surfilmusic’ by Jack Johnson at 6:00PM. This intimate documentary traces Johnson’s evolution from surfer to filmmaker to world-renowned musician. Ticket sales are ‘pay what you can’ and support Bethel Area Arts and Music!
Keep the musical vibes going after the film by heading over to Suds Pub for live music from 7:00PM-10:00PM.
Saturday: Start your day at The Bethel Farmers’ Market at 9:00AM, and catch another round of live music at Sud’s Pub later Saturday night!
Sunday: If you missed it Friday, there is another showing of ‘Surfilmusic’ at the Gem at 2:00PM!
This Weekend in the Greater Bethel Area
Friday: Enjoy some live music at Mt. Abram from 1:00PM-4:00PM with Michael Krapovicky, and keep the party going with live music from Hymm for Her at Steam Mill Brewing from 6:00PM-9:00PM.
Friday night, take a short walk up Buck’s Ledge (10 minutes from the parking lot), to catch a glimpse of ‘The Honor Summit’ lights on Mt. Washington, commemorating 9/11.
Saturday: Enjoy Outdoor Story Time with Mahoosuc Land Trust at Valentine Farm and continue your day by visiting Mt. Abram or Steam Mill Brewing to enjoy some more live music!
Sunday: Take a chairlift ride and enjoy brunch at the top of North Peak at Sunday River from 11:00AM-1:00PM. Following that, you can go back to Mt. Abram again for a third round of live music from Nick & Dana at 12:30PM!
Bethel’s 2026 Harvest Fest Next Week!
Bethel Harvest Fest (Saturday, Sept 19): Mark your calendars for September 19th! Harvest Fest has a full slate this year, and we can’t wait to share the day with you.
We are currently looking for volunteers for the big day, please consider signing up here!
This year we will have plenty of activities, including kids activities with Play Alchemy, Hancock Lumber, the Maine Mineral & Gem Museum, and more! Enjoy plenty of Maine traditions such as cider pressing, sluicing, apple pie baking competitions, and apple pie eating competitions.
We will also be introducing some new traditions, including a 50/50 raffle, selling commemorative pins, and announcing Bethel’s inaugural Dog Mayor!
