Ronald McDonald House® Maine Launches “Hearts & Hamburgers Tour” Traveling to 63 McDonald’s Restaurants Across Maine and Northern New Hampshire

WINSLOW, Maine — August 19, 2026 — Ronald McDonald House® Maine’s Development Coordinator, Mike Sickles, is embarking on an extraordinary journey across Maine and Northern New Hampshire for the 2026 Hearts & Hamburgers Tour. Traveling over 1,995 miles, Sickles will visit all 63 local McDonald’s restaurants that participate in the Round-Up donation program.

The tour kicks off on Wednesday, August 19, at 9:00 AM at the Winslow McDonald’s (9 China Rd, Winslow, ME). Members of the press, community, and local families are invited to attend the launch event. They can follow the journey on the organization’s social media (Ronald McDonald House Maine on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn).

The 1,995-mile route mirrors the journeys taken by hundreds of families every year, traveling to access critical medical and mental healthcare for their children. Sickles’ tour will take him on paths well-worn by Ronald McDonald House families, traveling between Fort Kent, Wells, Calais, Lancaster, NH, and everywhere in between.

The Hearts & Hamburgers Tour aims to:
• Highlight Local Impact: Share inspiring stories from Ronald McDonald House’s volunteers, employees, and families across every Maine county, as well as Carroll and Coös counties in New Hampshire.
• Thank McDonald’s Crew Members: Express gratitude to the employees who make the “Would you like to Round-Up for Ronald McDonald House?” ask every day, raising funds to help support our families.
• Educate the Public: Raise awareness about how simple “Round-Up” donations transform into nights of comfort, warm meals, and accommodations for families with sick or injured children.
