CLT Announces Cast of ‘The Wizard of Oz’
Show Opens August 7
Director Brandon Chaloux has announced the cast for Community Little Theatre’s upcoming production of “The Wizard of Oz,” which will open on August 7.
L. Frank Baum’s classic novel comes to life in this faithful adaptation that features all the most beloved songs and moments from the 1939 classic film. Young Dorothy Gale is swept away by a tornado from her Kansas farm to the magical land of Oz. There she encounters a host of whimsical characters on her way to see the mysterious and all-powerful wizard in Emerald City. Along the way, she makes new friends, but must also brave many dangers, including the Wicked Witch of the West, who will stop at nothing to get her hands on Dorothy’s magical ruby slippers. To make it home safely, Dorothy must learn an important lesson: there’s no place like home.
Isana Bell will play the lead role of Dorothy Gale. Other principals include Karianna Merrill (Aunt Em/Glinda), Aaron Skolfield (Hunk/Scarecrow), Chris Cifelli (Professor Marvel/Wizard of Oz), Phoebe Edwards (Almira Gulch/Wicked Witch), Jack Desrosiers (Hickory/Tin Man), Kevin Bolduc (Uncle Henry/Emerald City Guard), and Gregg Hauger (Zeke/Cowardly Lion).
Munchkinland officials will be played by Lynn Thibault McLain, Janelle Raven, and Nexxus Marcous; the Lullaby League will feature Daphne Cifelli, Nadia Doyon, and Evelyn McDonald; and Rocky Bernier, Harper Bilodeau, and River Charlett will form the Lullaby Guild. In the ensemble will be Alexis Bellefleur, Jordan Clatchey, Amelia Eaton, Danielle Eaton, Toby Gouette, Kathleen Grenier, Joseph Grochmal, Isabella Rizzolo, Evie True, Casey Waters, and Maggie Waters.
