MADISON: American Legion Auxiliary Unit #39 of Madison is once again collecting school supplies for children in our local schools, including Madison MSAD 59 and Carrabec RSU 74. This year, the Auxiliary is also collecting items to support school staff and teachers.
Items Needed for Students
Backpacks, rulers, erasers, pencils, colored pencils, ink pens in blue, black, and red, crayons, markers, glue sticks, binder pouches, 1-inch and 2-inch binders, one-subject notebooks, college-ruled and standard-ruled filler paper.
Items Needed for Staff and Teachers
Tissues, whiteboard markers, Post-it notes, masking tape, Scotch tape, paper towels, Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer, tri-fold boards, gift cards to box stores, and individually wrapped snacks.
Drop-Off Locations and Donation Information
Items may be dropped off in collection boxes at the following locations: Abnaki Sno-Riders Snowmobile Club, 143 Lakewood Road (Route 201), Madison, during Bingo on Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; Family Dollar Store in Madison; and the Town Offices of Madison and Anson during business hours.
Monetary donations are also welcome. Please make checks payable to ALA Unit 39 and write “School Supplies” in the memo line. Mail donations to: ALA Unit 39, PO Box 325, Madison, ME 04950.
Additional Drop-Off Opportunity
Items may also be dropped off on Saturday, August 22nd, at the Auxiliary’s booth at the Craft & Vendors Fair in the green space at Skowhegan Savings Bank in Madison during Madison/Anson Days.
