Jul. 152026

Jessica Davis, cemetery restorationist, will teach us how to clean and re-align cemetery gravestones correctly and safely. Free program at Hiram Village Cemetery, Hancock Avenue, Hiram 04041. Wear closed-toe shoes, gloves, hat, bring drinking water, snacks, if you want, and shovel. Light rain is OK to work. Learn knowledge and skill to apply to other historic cemeteries, have fun with like-minded people, and help save our heritage.
There are many interesting gravestones in Hiram Village Cemetery. Such as that of Jane Dicks, born in Ireland, married Henry McGrath, a mill owner in Hiram. She died in 1838, age 34. The weather forecast for Saturday is for a comfortable 76F, no rain. A toilet is available at Soldiers Memorial Library across the street.
