Our Summer Reading Program has officially kicked off! Join us for a variety of exciting programs for all ages and interests!
Did anyone tell you not to play with your food? We won’t! Our first July activity for our Summer Reading Program, “Plant a seed, read”, has us making edible slime on Thursday, July 2nd at 6 p.m.
On Thursday, July 9th from 4:30 to 6 p.m, stop by for Drinks from the Garden, a fun-filled, hands-on class hosted by UMaine Extension Master Food Preserver Volunteer Claire Schreiber. This class will have you explore a variety of ways to incorporate herbs, fruits, and vegetables into syrups, juices, and mocktails you can make at home! Please note: this program is for ages 10 and up!
Next up, we’re hosting a visit from herbal apothecary Botanically Curious on Tuesday, July 14th at 1:30 p.m. for an awesome activity “designed to spark curiosity, confidence, and connection to the natural world”.
You can make your own GLOWING garden bouquet if you join us on Thursday, July 23rd at 6 p.m. Pick your petals and paint your own flowers in glowing UV reactive paint!
Don your black clothes and get ready to join the crows! On Thursday, July 30th at 6 p.m., we will be having a Crow Party! We’ll be making and trading trinkets, and playing CAWesome games, including a scavenger hunt for shiny treasure. Optional Dress Code: All Black or SHINY clothing.
Homeschool Group will meet once a month for the summer. Our July meet up will be on the 8th at 11:30 a.m. We will have activities for learning and creative play. This month’s activity theme will be Happy Birthday, America! Join us if you would like to connect with other homeschooling families.
Book Club will be meeting Thursday, July 9th at 3 p.m. We’ll be reading Tell Me Everything by Elizabeth Strout, as part of our Maine Women Authors series. The meeting will be in person with a Zoom option. Please let staff know if you would like the zoom link for the meeting.
Come join us at Game Gathering on Thursday, July 16th at 3 p.m. to play card and board games. Bring a game to play or try one of ours.
Our therapy dog friends from Love on a Leash will be joining us on Thursday, July 16th for Tails and Tales from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Come and meet (and maybe read to) these sweet pups!
On Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m., join us for Craft Circle. Bring your own project or learn along with us! This is a craft group for all ages.
Join us Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. for Lego Explorers. Come and take on a challenge or build your own vision! Completed Lego masterpieces will be on display in the library for the following week.
Every two weeks, we will have new themed Story Time packets with crafts and other early literacy activities to take home. Pair the packets with a book from our Story Time to Go display that matches the theme. Have fun with books and activities with your family at your own convenience!
If you have questions about your phone, tablet, or computer or how to navigate online, our visiting tech teacher Ernie Steward from Spruce Mountain Adult Education, will return on Fridays from 3 to 5 p.m. in July.
The library will be closed on Saturday, July 4th for Independence Day.
