Teams from Throughout State to Compete for Maine Little League Title in Augusta
Capital Area Little League is this year’s host of the 12U Maine State Little League Tournament, the winner of which will represent our state in the New England Regional Little League Tournament, a stop on the way to the Little League World Series.
The tournament will start on Saturday, July 18, and beheld at Linscott Field at Capital Area Little League’s complex on Piggery Road in Augusta. Teams representing six districts from throughout the state will compete for the title and the opportunity to move on to Bristol, Conn.
“Our league is honored to host the best Little League teams from all corners of the state for this tournament,” said Capital Area Little League Board President Darek Grant. “We pride ourselves on providing our players and community the best Little League experience possible, and we are excited to extend that to all of these teams.”
The tournament’s opening ceremony is planned for Sunday, July 19, at approximately 10:30 am. Capital Area Little League’s concession stand will be offering traditional favorites and several specials for the tournament throughout the week.
