Senator Collins received National Health Leadership Award by Maine Nurse Anesthetists

May. 62026

Senator Collins received the National Health Leadership Award from the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology, presented by Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) and nursing students from Maine. As Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee and a member of the HELP Committee, Senator Collins has supported funding for Title VIII Nursing Workforce programs and is co-leading legislation to reauthorize them through FY30. She also joined a bipartisan, bicameral group of more than 140 members of Congress in urging the Department of Education to correct the previous exclusion of post-baccalaureate nursing degrees from the regulatory definition of “professional degree.”
