The spring wild turkey hunting season is here!
Spring turkey season has arrived in Maine and it’s time to take to the woods.
Before long, you’ll be settled in your blind at first light, watching the sunrise and waiting for that unmistakable gobble as a bearded tom answers your call.
Spring Wild Turkey Youth Hunting Days kick off this Friday–Saturday, May 1–2, giving junior hunters the first opportunity to get out and experience the excitement of the season. The season then opens to all hunters on Monday, May 4, and runs through Saturday, June 6, with plenty of opportunity across the state.
Don’t forget: All harvested turkeys must be registered. You can register your bird in-person at a registration station or conveniently online through the self-registration system.
Good luck this season—and enjoy your time in Maine’s spring woods.
