Lewiston, ME — Andwell Health Partners recognizes and celebrates the impactful service of Deb Fournier as her term on the organization’s Board of Directors concludes, marking the end of a tenure defined by thoughtful leadership, strong governance, and deep commitment to mission.
Since joining the Board in 2021, Fournier has provided steady and engaged leadership during a period of significant growth and evolution for Andwell. Serving two consecutive terms — including as Vice Chair (2022–2023) and Board Chair (2023–2025) — she played a central role in strengthening governance practices, advancing strategic priorities, and fostering meaningful board engagement.
Fournier first joined the Board during a transition into retirement, eager to continue serving communities she has long cared about. With a background in nursing and deep roots in Maine, she brought both professional expertise and personal passion to her role.
“The mission of Andwell is critically important to our communities,” said Fournier. “I have seen the difference these services make — not only professionally, but personally.”
Throughout her tenure, Fournier served on the Finance, Nominating, and Executive Committees. As Board Chair and Chair of the Executive Committee, she helped guide the organization through an increasingly complex healthcare landscape, supporting both governance and long-term strategic direction.
Her leadership contributed to a stronger understanding of the challenges facing home health and hospice providers, including evolving reimbursement structures, while also elevating awareness of Andwell’s broad range of services — from behavioral health to pediatric care — that support individuals and families across Maine.
Fournier brought extensive experience in strategic planning, operations, quality, and compliance, and approached her leadership role with a focus on engagement, collaboration, and ensuring all voices at the table were heard.
“The Andwell Board of Directors consists of experts with diverse healthcare and business backgrounds,” Fournier said. “It was incredibly rewarding to see them come together during strategic planning sessions and critical discussions. They care deeply about the mission and don’t hesitate to step forward when their expertise can benefit the organization.”
Throughout her service, the most meaningful moments often came through stories — from patients, families, and community members whose lives were touched by Andwell’s care.
“They can’t say enough about how much they valued the compassionate care and support when their loved ones were passing,” she shared. “It touched their lives profoundly.”
As she concludes her term, Fournier leaves with a continued commitment to advocate for the importance of nonprofit, community-based healthcare and to help ensure its future sustainability.
“It has been a privilege to work alongside Deb,” said Ken Albert, President and Chief Executive Officer of Andwell Health Partners. “She leads with thoughtfulness, integrity, and a genuine commitment to our mission. Her presence has made a meaningful difference—not only in how our board operates, but in how we continue to grow and serve our communities. We will miss her leadership and are deeply thankful for all she has given to Andwell.”
Fournier’s legacy is one of stewardship, collaboration, and unwavering dedication to mission — a foundation that will continue to support Andwell’s work for years to come.
