Scarborough – Andwell Health Partners’ and Hospice of Southern Maine’s annual Thresholds Conference – May 5

SCARBOROUGH, Maine (April 1st, 2026) – Andwell Health Partners and Hospice of Southern Maine (HSM) are excited to welcome Resilience Researcher and Grief Expert, Dr. Lucy Hone, and Harvard Stress Expert, Dr. Aditi Nerurkar, as keynote speakers at its upcoming Thresholds Conference. The conference will be held in person with a virtual option on Tuesday, May 5 from 9 AM – 2 PM ET at the University of Southern Maine’s Hannaford Hall in Portland, Maine.
An annual conference that unites families, friends, healthcare professionals, caregivers, and the community in meaningful conversations about end-of-life care, this year’s topic is Holding Space in Hard Moments: Supporting Loss, Caregiver Fatigue, and End-of-Life Conversations. In addition to keynote speaker presentations, there will be three breakout rooms focused on Home Caregiving, Bereavement, and Memory Care, with CEUs for social workers and nurses available.
Dr. Lucy Hone is a leading resilience expert, bestselling author, and speaker who helps people cope with loss, change, and uncertainty. She holds a PhD in wellbeing science and combines research with personal experience, including the loss of her daughter, to make resilience practical and accessible. Her TED Talk has over 9 million views, and she works with organizations, governments, and communities to build realistic, evidence-based approaches to life’s challenges.
Dr. Aditi Nerurkar is a Harvard physician and expert in stress, resilience, and burnout. A dynamic speaker, she helps audiences improve mental health and productivity with practical, science-backed strategies.
She is the author of the bestselling book The Five Resets, published in 35 countries, and her work has been featured in major outlets including The New York Times, NPR, and CNN. Dr. Nerurkar serves on the faculty at Harvard Medical School and is an internationally recognized speaker who has presented at organizations such as IBM, Visa, and the Forbes 30 Under 30 Summit.
