EƯective April 1, 2026, Hospice of Southern Maine and Andwell Health
Partners will unite under one non-profit organization, strengthening their shared mission to
serve individuals and families across Maine with compassionate, high-quality care.
Both organizations have long histories of supporting Maine communities and share a deep
commitment to preserving strong, community-based, non-profit healthcare. By joining
Hospice of Southern Maine with Andwell Health Partners, the Boards of Directors have
made a deliberate and forward-looking decision to enhance their collective ability to
support patients and families, invest in their extraordinary workforce, and ensure long-term
access to high-quality non-profit hospice, palliative care, home health, and supportive
services throughout the state.
“This merger reflects our shared belief that collaboration and scale are essential to
sustaining non-profit care in today’s evolving healthcare environment,” said organizational
leaders. “Together, we are better positioned to meet the growing and complex needs of the
people we serve, while remaining rooted in the communities that rely on us.”
For patients and families, care teams and care plans will remain unchanged. Services will
continue without interruption, ensuring continuity, familiarity, and trust. What is changing
is the organizations’ combined strength and ability to grow—creating an even more robust,
compassionate, and accessible non-profit healthcare option for Mainers.
