2025 PARADE RULES AND REGULATIONS

*Entries must observe all applicable rules and regulations.  The Oxford Hills Chamber Christmas Parade Committee reserves the right to remove any entrant not conforming to rules and regulations or any entrant refusing to follow instructions of police or parade officials.  All entries must be approved by the Christmas Parade Committee. **

  1. Deadline for parade entries is Monday, November 24, 2025. 
  2.  ALL JUDGED ENTERIES MUST BEIN PLACEPROMPTLY BY 9:30 AM OR RISK ELIMINATION OF BEING JUDGED.   Judges will come by each float only once so please, make sure you are ready to be judged on time.
  3. All entries to be judged must be decorated  and following the theme:  “The Night Before Christmas” 
  4. Due to this year’s theme  Santas will be allowed in the design of the float.  The REAL Santa will be the last entry in the parade to greet the children.
  5. The committee will require inspection of floats prior to the parade.  Float inspectors/judges will be looking at the floats as they walk along the line-up route.
  6. Adult supervision required on floats where children are present.  Participants are not permitted to hang over the edge of flatbed trailers.  Standing is not permitted unless a support rail is in place around the edge for safety.
  7. The size of the float should be within the legal road limit, restrictions are as follows:  Height restrictions:  13’ 6”; Width restrictions:  8’ 6”; Total length not to exceed 65’ if pulled by a standard vehicle.
  8. Windshields, side windows and side mirrors must be completely unobstructed.  Driver must have an unobstructed view at all times.
  9. Throwing candy or any objects from parade entrants on floats is not permitted.  Handing out candy or objects to the crowd is permitted by walkers.
  10. Larger groups will have an assigned meeting location for parade set up. This assigned spot will be given to the parade contact person once the application is received by the Chamber. It is the responsibility of the organization/group to inform their parade participants of this location prior to the parade.
  11. If a generator is used, it must be placed away from decorations and secured.
  12. A fire extinguisher is required to be on every float for safety reasons.
  13. No one is allowed to get on or off a float or entry once it has started down the parade route.
  14. No smoking or alcoholic beverages on any parade entry at any time before or during the parade.
  15. If you have live-stock in the parade, their droppings must be picked up before the start of the parade at the beginning of the parade route and also at the end of the parade.
